AVR Relay

Opens 22nd June 2020

The AVR Relay will go ahead…virtually! You have until Saturday the 4th of July 23:59pm to enter. Grab three of your mates or fellow club members, e-mail/message me your team name and team members at hollyjeannewman@hotmail.co.uk and please ask each team member to make a small donation to the charity just giving page which will be posted on the Facebook event page/AVR website. From Monday the 22nd of June to Sunday the 5th of July runners will have two weeks to complete a leg for their team. This means runners won’t be out and about all on one day! You can do this wherever you like in the UK providing that you are following the socially distancing measures. Once you have ran your leg email me or post on Facebook a picture of your watch or a screenshot of your Strava/Garmin with your completed time. Times will for results and prizes will use ELASPED TIME not MOVING TIME so if you are planning to take a picture of your watch instead of a screenshot of your Strava/Garmin analysis don’t pause your watch mid run. We are trusting runners to be honest about their times!

In your team you need four legs completed of the following distances: 2.5km (1.55 miles) , 5km (3.11 miles) , 7.5km (4.66 miles) , 10km (6.21 miles)

There are category competitions which are slightly different to previous years to try and keep things simple but also to keep things fun!

  • Best team name
  • Best socially distanced team picture: get creative! This could be two pictures of two people stood at least 2 metres apart put together or it could be 4 pictures put together
  • Best picture running in fancy dress
  • 1st Male Team
  • 1st Female Team
  • 1st Junior Team*
  • 1st Mixed Team (at least one male and one female)

*All members of a junior team must be below the age of 18 on race day. Runners running the 10km leg must be 16years old or over at the time of running the leg.
