Two hundred and twenty runners lined up alongside Broughton Gifford Common for the fifth running of the Foxtrot 5. The race got off to a fast start with Dan Woolford from Melksham running for Bristol & West AC going through the first mile in a shade over five minutes with just team Bath's Alistair Sheffield for company. The course then passed Great Chalfield Manor and then climbed up towards Stonar school before affording a good downhill charge back through Broughton Gifford. Dan Woolford managed to open up a winning lead of just four seconds to cross the finish line at the Fox Public House in a time of twenty six minutes and thirty one seconds to claim his third Foxtrot title. Avon Valley Runners Michael Towler came home in third place recording 28:29 and scored the maximum 20-points in the club's race series. Stewart Avery was the clubs second man over the line in 14th place just ducking under the thirty minute barrier and recording 29:59. Back in 51st place, the injured Carl Davies ensured that he secured enough points to maintain his position at the top of the AVR Race Series table by running around the course with his daughter Lily using her pushchair for support and recording a time of 35:06!

The ladies race Laura Parsonage of team Bath took victory in 29:50 ahead of Chippenham duo of Michelle Maxwell and Debbie Jones. Ali Atkinsonwas the first Avon Valley lady to return finishing in 61st place recording 36:06 and with 20-points in the AVR Race Series closed the gap on the table leader (Tina Giles) to just 2-points.

The race also marked the farewell of Race Director Gary Jardine of Avon Valley Runners, who founded the event in 2005. Gary celebrated his final year at the helm by taking part and finishing in 101st place and recording 40:12.
