Off Road in November

  • 3rd November – Our own “Over The Hills” - do enjoy it whether you are running or marshalling.
I'll be there in the muddy field to encourage you on, as usual.
  • 10th November – Sodbury Slog is sold out well in advance, as usual. Best of luck to those doing it.
  • 16th November, Saturday - The Roundway Revenge is Devizes Running Club’s signature off-road event showcasing the undulating terrain and breath-taking views of the Wiltshire countryside, dominated by the climb up Roundway Hill.
At just over eight miles, it appeals to those relatively new to off-road racers, whilst being hilly and muddy enough to attract harder core entrants.
    • Race # 3 of the Wiltshire Off Road Race League
    • Unique commemorative medal
    • Overall and category prizes
    • Free race photos
    • Accurate gun to chip timing
    • Supportive (and loudest) marshals
(Can we, AVR, claim to be even more supportive at our own events?)
  • The Wickstead Wander which is usually held at the end of November has now returned to Sunday 8th December. Fancy dress encouraged for this 5 country mile event.
But before that, on the 1st December is the Bromham Pudding Run, sold out ages ago.
  • The last Off Road Championship event this year will be the Plain Crazy to be held on Monday, 30th December – have you entered yet?
  • The Tri Counties event, normally held at Bath Uni is going to be organised by Somerset AA, but no details are yet available.

Dates for your diary in 2020 are:

  • SMaRTT Smasher, Sunday 9th February – I have already entered – it's cheaper to enter early.
  • Bowood 10K, Sunday 29th March.

Finally, Congratulations to our wonderful secretary, Jay, on her marriage to David.
