Road and Off Road Running

Here is a list of recommended events for the next five weeks:

Don't forget many of these races are now filling up fast, so get your entry in early, so in some cases I have selected a choice of two events the same day.

Sunday, 27th August
The Flying Monk 10K
The race starts and finishes at Malmesbury Football Club and there will be a Bar and BBQ at the finish location. Also on the day Petticoat Lane is held and is a great event to stay around for.
Multi terrain
Sunday, 3rd September
Woodchester Park
A challenging, hilly course of approximately eight miles along woodland tracks through Woodchester Park.
Sunday, 10th September
Chippenham Half Marathon
Road Championship event
Thursday, 14th September
The last of the series
Will this take place again next year?
Sunday, 17th September
Melksham 10
The Melksham 10K is a road race, starting from the King George V Playing Fields in Melksham over a certified Ten Kilometre course around the town with the potential for producing fast times.
Sunday, 24th September
Mells Scenic 7
AVR Off Road Championship event
The Scenic Seven course is a 7 mile undulating course through the Somerset countryside. The course is roughly two thirds trail running and a third path and minor roads. The race starts in the Somerset village of Mells and takes runners through the villages of Great Elm and Buckland Dinham before returning to Mells. The climb total throughout the course is a respectable 315 feet. It’s a lovely run
Sunday, 1st October
The Brinkworth 10k Bash
The Brinkworth 10k Bash is a 10k multi-terrain running race around the village of Brinkworth organised by the Brinkworth Heritage Society. The course has been praised by previous competitors, the atmosphere has been good. Food and drink will be available from the new kitchen facilities and there is play equipment on the rec. to keep the younger supporters entertained.

Don't forget, there is always a club run from Pound Lane each Sunday starting at 09:30.
