Road and Off Road Running

Here is a list of recommended events for the next five weeks:

Don't forget many of these races are now filling up fast, so get your entry in early, so in some cases I have selected a choice of two events the same day.

Sunday, 31st August
Flying Monk 10k
The Flying Monk Malmesbury 10k is very much part of the Carnival celebrations. An undulating route with approx 1.5k of the route off road down the “Old Fosse Way”, the oldest Roman Road in the country, the rest being run on the quiet country roads surrounding Malmesbury.
Sunday, 1st September
Warminster Carnival Chase
Warminster Carnival Chase 3k and 10k run. Register at Redfish events
Sunday, 8th September
Chippenham Half Marathon
This is a Road Championship event
Sunday, 22nd September
Mells Scenic Seven
This 7ish mile trail race comprises of approximately 5 miles of footpath/bridleway and 2 miles of quiet country lanes. Starting and finishing in the historic village of Mells, near Frome and featuring the beautiful East Somerset countryside.
This is one of my favourite events - come along and join us
ATTENTION - CLASH OF Championship EVENTS
Sunday, 29th September tbc
Devizes 10k
This is a Road Championship event
Sunday, 29th September tbc
Brinkworth Bash
The undulating and varied route is generally firm underfoot in September although a wet summer could make some sections interestingly muddy, as it did in 2017! But there are also some fast sections and in dry conditions such as last year when a new course record was set, very fast times are possible.
This is an Off-Road Championship event

Note:

Don't forget, there is always a club run from Pound Lane each Sunday starting at 09:30.
