There is no dedicated car park for the Cherhill monument/White Horse.
There are about 5 lay-bys spread along the A4 each of which will accommodate about three vehicles.
You are advised to use the car park at the end of Yatesbury Lane in order not to create problems
for other road users.
- Cockroost Farm, Broad Town in the section marked in yellow on the map for stage 5
(don't park in front of the house)
- Either on the side of the road along Post Office Lane or
on the grass opposite The Bell Inn or
in front of The Bell Inn but not in
the Bell Inn Car Park unless, of course, you are a customer.
- The Start: At the top of the hill actually on the track
The End: Parking at the end of the leg is in the Church car park at the end of Preshute Lane (about 1 km).
Cross the A4 (there are pedestrian lights), go down Bridge Street and turn left into Preshute Lane.
The church is at the end of this lane.
Alternatively it is a 2 km walk to Figgins Lane.
- Park in the Car Park in Figgins Lane off George Lane, Marlborough.
- Parking is at Knap Hill at the start of this leg.
Beware of car thieves - do not leave anything visible inside your car.
- Park in the (small) parking area up the track on the East side of Oare Lane.
You are advised to arrange a drop-off.
- There is a small car parking place just off the road for about six cars just above the Pewsey White Horse,
so don't stay longer than you need.
- There is plenty of room for parking along the sides of the road down which the previous leg comes.
It is a cul de sac.
- Charlton St Peter - Car Parking is opposite the start of this leg at the Charlton Cat Public House
car park. Please respect the clients' use of this park and do not block anybody.
- Parking is possible along the paths near Gore Cross Farm but we have been asked not to block any exits.
Parking at the end of stage 14, the end of the relay, is above the Westbury White Horse.
